China -> Lhasa -> Ramoche Monastery Ramoche Monastery Lhasa, Ramoche Temple was built at the same time as Jokhang Temple but wasn't as lucky as its sister temple. It was burned down early on, rebuilt, damaged under the Mongols, and then was subject to the Communist Party. It was built in the Chinese style, unlike Jokhang, and was said to have been built to house the treasuredJowo Rinpoche statue, also brought by Princess Wencheng. |
