China -> Chengdu -> Qinyang Temple-Green Goat Temple Qinyang Temple-Green Goat Temple Chengdu, Sichuan Province The Qinyang Temple is located in the western part of Chengdu and is an important Taoist temple. The temple is designed in the Taoist pattern of an octagonal Eight-Diagram Pavilion. This design reflects the Bagua, the eternal eight trigrams of Taoist philosophy. These trigrams represent all natural phenomena and combine to create the 64 hexagrams of the Book of Changes. Inside, there is a statue of Laozi, the founder of Taoism, riding a green ox throught the Huangpu Pass. |
